Projects for Europe

Active Cities - Fair Cities
Overview
What the project is about
Fair Cities for EU empowers citizens, particularly women, youth, and minorities, to actively shape a fair green transition within their communities, ensuring that climate policies remain socially inclusive. Fostering cross-border dialogue and sharing best practices, the project connects local authorities and civil society to build a sustainable future where no one is left behind.
Main Aims
what do we want to achieve
Boost inclusive engagement: Empower citizens, particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups, to actively shape fair green transition policies.
Support local authorities: Train municipal policymakers on effective methods and tools for inclusive decision-making.
Foster transnational cooperation: Build a sustainable network of European towns to share best practices and innovative approaches to climate action.
Connect local to European: Highlight the link between EU policies, funding, and their concrete impact on citizens' daily lives.
Target audience
For whom is the project relevant
The project primarily targets those most affected by the green transition but often least heard in the policymaking process, specifically vulnerable groups such as low-income households, the elderly, and marginalised communities.
We place a special emphasis on empowering women and young people to ensure gender-balanced and future-oriented perspectives , as well as EU mobile citizens residing in other Member States.
Equally important are the municipal policymakers and local officials we support, equipping them with the necessary tools and training to design inclusive, democratic policies that ensure a fair transition for all.
